Biomechanical Testing

Phoenix Hipwear partnered with impctLAB and Carbon to develop the Phoenix Shield. A comprehensive design and engineering process included extensive testing to ensure the performance requirements.

An example of one of the tests conducted is below. 

The test was conducted by generating force by dropping a weighted anvil to a force plate to determine how much force would be absorbed by the shields.

Phoenix Hipwear garments with hip protector shields are designed to protect the hips from injuries in a fall. While they may help lessen the severity of the impact in a fall, it does not guarantee that they will prevent a hip fracture.
