I’ve attached a few photos of me wearing the Phoenix Hipwear under hiking shorts while hiking and kayaking in Kauai this week.
I was surprised at how comfortable the hip guards are - I wasn’t even aware of them when kayaking. We kayaked for a couple of miles down a river and then hiked a mile or so inland on some pretty uneven terrain to see a waterfall, and then the same in reverse!
We also did part of a trail on the Na Pali coast that was also uneven and slippery in places, so I was glad to have the hip protection and walking poles.
It felt reassuring to know that the hip guards were there in the event I fell. I’ll certainly be using them on trail hikes at home in Santa Barbara, California, as they can be worn under hiking pants for sure.

So comfortable that I wear them all the time. I have both osteoporosis and vision issues but remain very active. These hip shields give me the reassurance I need while remaining discreet. Worth every penny. Thank you for developing this product.

If you have any problem with the shorts they get back to you right away to make sure you have a perfect fit. This company was great!! You don't want to have a fall without the protection. I recently had a fall .... did not have any broken bones...but boy of boy am I ever sore. I wish I had ordered this product before my fall.
