I am writing as a wise elder, exercise physiologist and former marathoner, speed skater and cyclist. These shorts are a first, we have never had anything close to Natashas active shorts with hip pads to prevent hip fractures from a fall. They are totally discreet and look like our cycling shorts but better. In fact I am recommending the cyclists snd mountain bikers wear these over or under their leggings until Natasha creates some with a chamois for cyclists. Kudos to her for keeping us active.

The active shorts with shields hipwear have proven to be as lightweight and comfortable as I had hoped. I wear them under my regular tights and jeans for hiking and other activities. In warm weather, they can be worn alone. The shields are barely detectable as my t-shirts fit right over them.
With a bit of wear, the shields soften and conform to your body. I sometimes forget I have them on.
These are well worth the investment if you are concerned about a fall, as I was. I know from experience that a fall can happen even to a fit person like myself, within a second!

The shorts are very comfortable and the shields don’t make them bulky. I’ve worn them walking, jogging and working out. The shorts fit well and are fine on their own but can also be worn under other clothing. I have osteoporosis so it’s great to have this added protection.

For anyone concerned about falling and potentially fracturing a hip, these protectors certainly provide additional peace of mind. I had a hip fracture a year ago. But I healed well and my surgeon gave me a green light to ski this past season. When I learned about Phoenix hip wear, I was over the moon to try them. Well, I finished my skiing season with flying colors, wearing the shields and the older version of shorts twice a week. It was so comfortable that after I put them on, I would forget them. Now the new shorts are like a Mercedes vs Toyota :) The shorts are sleek, comfy and functional. I highly recommend for anyone who is active and may have osteoporosis, like I do, to get a pair of these wonderful hip attire. Your hips will thank you! :)

Love the sports shorts. They are comfortable and fit well. The fabric is a great quality and breath well. I wear them for hiking, exercising, and doing outside activities. I wear them alone, under leggings, hiking pants even over leggings.

“I had a hard fall 2 weeks ago on a trail I have done thousands of times. A moment of inattention caused me to trip and fall on my right hip, elbow and FACE. Yup. My sunglasses jammed into my face and I have a huge "shiner" with hematomas below my brow and on my cheekbone. Also a small fracture in my nose from the bridge of the glasses! Blood everywhere from my nose and the gash above my eye. BUT....didn't feel a thing on my hip and was able to walk the 1.5 hours back to my car and drive myself to the emergency clinic. I absolutely will not hike without the protectors.
I am very grateful it was not worse. I got a good work up at the clinic and stitches on my elbow and brow bone.
